Monica Krake
Communications Director, Co-founder
Monica's career in strategic communications and media relations began at the turn of the century in BC's life sciences industry and developed into a niche expertise in digital media while working with industry building groups like New Media BC, the New Media Innovation Centre, BC NET and many others.
Still a digital enthusiast, Monica has more recently taken on the corporate world using her media relations savvy to solidify the reputations of clients ranging from the business systems masters at Wardell Professional Development to the masters of wearable art at Dotted Loop.
Passionate about her community, Monica holds a founding position on the development team of Genesis Vancouver, a Vancouver-based charity that provides housing and support to exploited mothers and children.
Kirstin Richter
Creative Director, Co-founder
With a BA in Communications and over a decade of working in the digital media space, Kirstin has been able to combine her two career passions at The Social Agency. Kirstin has worked as a conference planner at UBC and spent 8+ years at New Media BC where she was the Communications and Program Manager. Kirstin was the founding Creative Director of the Vancouver International Digital Festival (VIDFEST), which she oversaw from 2004 to 2008. Most recently, she produced Vancouver Digital Week and the 2009 PopVox Awards.
Kirstin has been a board director for both Wired Woman and the New Forms Media Society. In 2006 she received her Diploma in Executive Management from Simon Fraser University. Kirstin is a proud Saskatchewanian but feels most at home on the west coast.
Kelly Verchere
Program Director, Co-founder
Kelly has been extensively involved in the digital media field since the mid 90's. She started as an on camera host for The Electric Playground, which introduced her to the digital media field and the video game industry. Captivated by the digital space she started working for Electronic Arts in the late 1990's and more recently has been managing conference programs for the Vancouver International Digital Festival (VIDFEST), 2004-2008, and Cossette's Convergence, 2008-2009. "The truth is I love to learn, and I feel privileged to have met so many exceptional people who push the boundaries in modern media."
